About Herbs for Autism ®

Libby Felten, founder of Herbs for Autism ®, Clinical Herbalist and autism mom, is known internationally as an expert in the herbal field for her knowledge and success in treating adults and children with autism and other developmental disorders.

As the mother of a child with special needs, she understands the health and behavioral challenges many parents face. This personal experience, combined with her training and clinical expertise, enables Libby to facilitate true healing even when other treatments have not been successful.

In 2009, Libby founded Herbs for Autism ® to offer parents an alternative to the use of pharmaceuticals in autism and other developmental disabilities such as ADHD.

Libby has appeared in the NY Times, Mothering Magazine, Age of Autism, NPR and many others.

Herbs for Autism ® specializes in all developmental disorders including autism, aspergers, adhd and PDD-NOS

Our Mission

The mission of Herbs for Autism is to teach parents and caregivers how to use herbalism safely and effectively in healing the underlying medical conditions found in autism.

Herbs for Autism was started in response to an alarming rise in the use of pharmaceuticals (many with serious side effects) for children with special needs. Herbalism uses nature’s gifts of food, herbs and flower essences to heal even the most challenging medical concerns.

We believe that basic health care should be in the hands of the parents. This blog is our means to share that knowledge. We invite you to join us and share your thoughts.
